形態特徵

• Culms geniculate, ca. 1 mm in diam.
• Blade ca. 8 cm long, 3 mm wide, covered with tubercled hairs; ligule chartaceous, upper part minutely fimbriate, backside hairy, ca. 0.6 mm long.
• Inflorescence of digitate racemes, racemes ca. 4 cm long. Spikelets paired; upper pedicelate; lower sessile, ca. 4m long. Lower glume subcoriaceous, oblong, as long as spikelet, 8-10-nerved, lower margins inrolled, upper part 2-keeled, densely hairy abaxially, margins ciliate; upper glume subcoriaceous, elliptic, margins inrolled and fimbriate 2-grooved abaxially, ca. 3.6 mm long; lemma ca. 3 mm long, linear, 1-nerved, with a flexuous awn arising from tip, awn ca. 6 times its length of lemma; palea hyaline, lanceolate, margins inrolled, nerveless, ca. 3.2 mm long, pale purple.
• Caryopsis oblong, ca. 1.8 mm long; embryo 1/2 its length of caryopsis.

分布

• 台灣 : This is an excellent fodder grass locally naturalized in southern Taiwan, often growing among rocks.
• 世界 : India; now introduced into Australia, Africa and America.
